Project Overview

During this project we where showing a majority vote circuit. The purpose of this circuit is to represent majority vote between the president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. The goal was to make it so the light lit up if a majority of the voters chose 1 but if there are 2 and 2 the president was the tie breaker.
Problem Conception
On the left is a picture of the simplified expression which shows every possible way to get a 1 on the vote section of the table. On the right is a picture of a truth table which shows the possible inputs an outputs of the expression.
Un-Simplified Circuit
This is the circuit based on the un-simplified expression. each one of the inputs written on the circuit is shown by using and gates which are the flat bottom gates these are used to combine the PVST inputs and you need 3 for each of them because they are both duel input and we need four inputs so the extra the first 2 gates are used to put PV and ST together and the third one is to combine PVST. The ones with the curved bottoms are called or gates and they are used to add alternate outputs for example PnotVST+PVST this makes it so that it will work if you put in PVST or just PST. The goal of this is to turn on a light when majority rules.
Boolean Algabra
Boolean Algebra is used to help simplify the un-simplified equation. The simplified equation is used to create the smaller simplified circuit.
Simplified Circuit
This circuit shown is the simplified version which uses a smaller and easier to follow equation. This circuit does not use any inverters which are the ones that changes P into notP. this circuit is much simpler as it uses less gates and only depends on which ones are set to 1 and not ones that are 0.
In real world scenarios this type of circuit is much cheaper as it uses a lot less gates and it also has less natural resistance.

List of Materials
The materials listed are what was used to make the circuit.
Breadboard
The breadboard was what the circuit was made on. This was made using the simplified equation. The issues i had while making the circuit the ls32 chip or the or chip and it wouldn't stay down, it took me a little bit to figure it out as it was barley sticking up.
While Conclusion
While making this i learned how to breadboard better, it helped me understand how the gates work in real life and how to ground and power the chips. This project also showed me how to make an un-simplified using multisim and only using only two input gates. During this project i also learned how to apply and use boolean algebra and how i used 8 minterm's and brought it down to 4 and instead of using 25 gates i only used 8. This project was definitly for the most part very enjoyable because I find breadboarding to be fun and enjoyable.
